3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession

In a context of increasing globalization and increasing interdependence in trade relations between countries, the subject "Economy of the European Union" aims to give the student a general and specific vision of the main aspects of European integration, such as its institutions , commercial and productive integration, the macroeconomic and financial structure and the most significant changes from its formation to the present day. It is essential that economists have a clear understanding of these aspects of the economic environment. The aim is for the student to be able to identify the implications, the main advantages and the risks that European integration offers to organizations so that they can carry out their professional activities efficiently, both in the field of public and company management. private.


4. Degree competences achieved in this course
Course competences
Code Description
E07 Understand the economic environment as a result and application of theoretical or formal representations on how the economy works. To do so, it will be necessary to be able to understand and use common handbooks, as well as articles and, in general, leading edge bibliography in the core subjects of the curriculum.
E08 Ability to produce financial information, relevant to the decision-making process.
G01 Possession of the skills needed for continuous, self-led, independent learning, which will allow students to develop the learning abilities needed to undertake further study with a high degree of independence.
G03 Develop oral and written communication skills in order to prepare reports, research projects and business projects and defend them before any commission or group of professionals (specialised or non-specialised) in more than one language, by collecting relevant evidence and interpreting it appropriately so as to reach conclusions.

Description
Search for information in order to analyze it, interpret is meaning, synthesize it and communicate it to others.
Know the tools and methods for the quantitative analysis of the company and its environment, including models for business decision making as well as economic forecast models.
Know the analytical models and techniques of the economic and legal environment currently faced by enterprises, with special attention given to the search for opportunities and the anticipation of potential changes.
Know the main theories and approaches of economic analysis to be able to explain the behavior of economic agents at the micro and macroeconomic levels, as well as the imperfections that may arise in different sectors as a consequence of the economic process.
Understand diversity in terms of people and cultures.
Work out problems in creative and innovative ways.

Description
The student will be able to: - Know the most relevant aspects, both theoretical and practical, of the European integration process -Know and understand the main aspects of the institutional functioning of the European Union -Identify the community sources that make it possible to monitor the current integration process European -Study the implications of integrating the main microeconomic and macroeconomic policies.

According to art. 4 of the UCLM Student Evaluation Regulations, it must be provided to students who cannot regularly attend face-to-face training activities the passing of the subject, having the right (art. 12.2) to be globally graded, in 2 annual calls per subject , an ordinary and an extraordinary one (evaluating 100% of the competences).

Evaluation criteria for the final exam:
  • Continuous assessment:
    The final written test will take place on the date included in the exam calendar of the faculty. The grade will be added to the final test obtained in the evaluable activities other than the final test when a minimum score of 4 out of 10 is obtained in the final test.
  • Non-continuous evaluation:
    The evaluation will be carried out with a final test that will include the specific tests that are considered necessary to evaluate all the competences.

Specifications for the resit/retake exam:
In the extraordinary call, knowledge will be recovered through a final test. The recovery of the evaluation of the acquired competences in the training activities, the teacher must be notified before the exam period begins and it will be carried out through specific tests that can be included in the final test.
Specifications for the second resit / retake exam:
The evaluation will be carried out on a single written test, requiring a minimum score of 5 out of 10 to pass the course
