Course competences
Code Description
A15 To direct, evaluate and provide comprehensive nursing care to the individual, the family and the community.
A16 To describe the primary health care level and the activities to be developed in there to provide comprehensive nursing care to the individual, the family and the community. To understand the function and activities and cooperative attitude that the professional has to develop in the Primary Health Care team. To promote the participation of people, family and groups in their health-disease process. To identify the factors related to health and environmental problems, to assist people in situations of health and illness as members of a community. To identify and analyze the influence of internal and external factors on the individuals¿ and groups¿ health. To apply the necessary methods and procedures in their work area to identify the most relevant health problems in a community.

Course learning outcomes
Description
Promotion and facilitation of community participation in the health-disease process.
Promotion and prevention of the health and well-being of the members of the community.
Analyze the statistical and qualitative information referred to population-based studies, identifying the possible causes of public health problems.
Effective communication of health messages to the individual, family and community.
Demonstration of relevant knowledge in demography, statistics, epidemiology, decision analysis, health economics, etc.; to apply to problem solving and health decision-making.
Understanding of the functions, activities and cooperative attitude that the nursing professional has to develop in a health team.
Use appropriate oral and written language that favors communication with the user and the rest of the team.
Description of the fundamentals of the primary health level and the activities to be developed to provide comprehensive health care to the individual, family and community.
Application of quantitative and qualitative methods and procedures necessary to identify the most relevant health problems in a community.
Understanding of public health problems from intersubjectivity, multiculturalism and interdisciplinarity.
Acceptance of responsibility for their own learning and professional development.
Identification of the determinants of the level of collective health to meet health needs in a specific sociocultural, economic and political context.
