Course competences
Code Description
A05 To know and assess the nutritional needs of healthy people and people with health problems throughout the life cycle, promoting and reinforcing patterns of healthy eating behavior. To identify the nutrients and foods in which they are found. To identify the most prevalent nutritional problems and select the appropriate dietary recommendations.
A06 To apply the information and communication technologies in systems of health care.
A13 To apply the nursing process to provide and guarantee the well-being, quality and safety of the people served.
A14 To know and apply the principles that support comprehensive nursing care.
A19 To know the specific aspects of neonatal care. To identify the characteristics of the different stages of childhood and adolescence and the factors that determine the normal pattern of growth and development. To know the most frequent health problems in childhood and to identify their manifestations. To analyze the assessment data of the child, identifying the nursing problems and the complications that may arise. To apply the techniques that integrate nursing care, establishing a therapeutic relationship with children and their caregivers. To select interventions aimed at the healthy child and the patient, as well as those derived from diagnostic and treatment methods. To be able to provide health education to parents or caregivers.
A23 To know the applicable legislation and the ethical and deontological code of Spanish nursing, which is inspired by the European code of ethics and deontology of nursing. To provide care guaranteeing the right to dignity, privacy, privacy, confidentiality and decision-making capacity of the patient and family. To individualize care considering age, gender, cultural differences, ethnic group, beliefs and values.

Course learning outcomes
Description
Know the existing health structure in the area of maternal and child health in the community.
Organization and participation in programs aimed at promoting health and preventing and monitoring problems related to children and adolescents.
Follow-up of the healthy child and actions aimed at the early detection of high-risk children.
Assessment and detection of the most frequent problems in childhood and adolescence related to the altered basic needs.
Design and application of nursing care plans that help to solve the problems detected in children and adolescents, and follow-up on them.
Identification of the health needs of the healthy and sick child from birth to adolescence in the different contexts in which kids are involved (family, community, hospital).
