Compulsory: no prerequisites have been established for this subject.
Recommended: As it is Mathematics of Financial Operations, which is a subject where the concepts and procedures are linked to each other, it would be convenient to have a base of the studies of Secondary and Baccalaureate.
This subject, part of Module 7 Finance in the study plan for the Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, offers an introduction to the fundamental concepts of Finance. These foundational concepts include the time value of money principle and the concept of interest, which are vital for subsequent asset valuation and investment analysis via capitalization and discounting capital.
Moreover, we examine one of the main financing/investment operations in businesses—loans—across their various types.
This course provides essential knowledge for other subjects within the Finance Module, particularly 'Investment and Financing in the Company' (2nd year) and 'Financial Management of the Company' (3rd year). It is also instrumental for comprehending subjects related to business management, especially those associated with accounting (such as Financial Accounting and Company Accounting Analysis, etc.), and taxation subjects like Business Taxation.
The concepts developed throughout this subject are key for the financial direction and management of businesses, financial entities, and public organizations. We introduce basic concepts needed to compare the financing costs of different products and the profitability of alternate investment opportunities. A comprehensive analysis of one of the primary business financing operations—loans—is included.
