Chiropodology I focuses on the knowledge of the fundamental concepts of anesthesia and analgesia techniques, chiropodological treatments and drug administration, necessary for intervention in this subarea of Podiatry. It also studies the main cutaneous and traumatic affections of the foot, on which future professionals will intervene. It is a fundamental subject of the study plan, and one of the main reasons for consultation of patients in podiatry consultations are skin conditions (keratoderma) and its annexes (onicopathies).
The course serves as the basis for Chiropodology II, with which it is complemented, as with the rest of the module to which it belongs. It is based on knowledge acquired previously and in parallel with course from other modules and is necessary for the subsequent development of the practicum.
