3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession
This subject aims to train the student in the consideration of person, family and community as a unit of care, taking into account social, cultural and psychological factors that affect the health status of the community members. In addition, to train the student to assess the different health-disease situations that affect the family throughout its life cycle and the community and from them, to provide comprehensive health care, providing primary health care in an holistic and contextualized way, in an environment that promotes respect for human rights, values, customs and beliefs of the person, families and communities.

The subject allows the student to acquire skills in the field of clinical practice in all the spheres related to health promotion, with actions in disease prevention, in addition to considering community health care  (declaration of the WHO in Alma-Ata). The course also lays the foundation for turning the student into a critical reader of scientific literature.

Description of the primary level of health fundamentals and the activities to be developed to provide integral healthcare to the individual, family and community.
Identification of the determining factors of the level of collective health to meet health needs in a sociocultural, economic and political context.

Projects 10.00% 0.00% The evaluation of the activities related to cases or topics related to the program will be evaluated through the presentation of works that encompass the contents included in the course. These works may be requested by the teacher as part of a final portfolio.

According to art. 4 of the UCLM Student Evaluation Regulations, it must be provided to students who cannot regularly attend face-to-face training activities the passing of the subject, having the right (art. 12.2) to be globally graded, in 2 annual calls per subject , an ordinary and an extraordinary one (evaluating 100% of the competences).

Evaluation criteria for the final exam:
  • Continuous assessment:
    The current rating system will be applied; Currently, UCLM student evaluation regulations, approved on May 23th, 2022.
    The Global evaluation will be carried out based on the weighted average of the evaluation systems and the student must achieve 40% of the final test.
  • Non-continuous evaluation:
    The current rating system will be applied at all times; Currently, UCLM student evaluation regulations, approved on May 23 th, 2022.
    All the competences of the assessable training activities will be evaluated through a final test. That is, an alternative test to the continuous assessment that allows to evaluate the acquisition of the same competences of the training activities developed in the continuous assessment option. The student must achieve a 50% of the test.

Specifications for the resit/retake exam:
The assessment of the Work, oral presentation of topics, resolution of problems or cases and the Assessment of participation with advantage, which have been passed by the student will be preserved up to a maximum of two academic courses from the current course, as long as the training activities do not change.
