2. Pre-Requisites

 

Not established. Student must be able to handle Moodle platform. In this platform will be available the materials for follow-up and development of the suject and all information about the course.

3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession

The aim of this subject is to prepare students to provide nursing care in any action field (Hospital setting, outpatients, at home and socio-sanitary), to adults and elderly people with health problems based on principles of bioethics and human sciences, integrating knowledge, skills and attitudes related to promotion, prevention, treatment, recovery, rehabilitation, projecting the attention to the individual and the family.

Know the health alterations and their manifestations in the adult and elderly.
Identify the structural, functional, psychological and lifestyle modifications associated with the aging process.
Use the nursing care process holistically and ethically as a work tool, performing the assessment, identifying problems and prioritizing interventions in the adult and the elderly.
Use the different groups of drugs knowing their benefits and possible risks.
Communicate with clarity concepts related to care and use of technical terminology in another language, if necessary.
Know which are the most relevant mental health problems in the general population and in the different stages of the life cycle.
Collaborate in the realization of techniques and procedures in an interdisciplinary way.

According to art. 4 of the UCLM Student Evaluation Regulations, it must be provided to students who cannot regularly attend face-to-face training activities the passing of the subject, having the right (art. 12.2) to be globally graded, in 2 annual calls per subject , an ordinary and an extraordinary one (evaluating 100% of the competences).

    The final grade is obtained by adding the points earned, when applicable, with the elaboration of reports or work, the resolution of cases and / or problems to the qualification obtained in the final exam.
