Course competences
Code Description
A02 To know the use and indication of health products linked to nursing care.
A04 To know the use of medicines, evaluating the expected benefits and the associated risks and/or effects derived from their administration and consumption.
A05 To know and assess the nutritional needs of healthy people and people with health problems throughout the life cycle, promoting and reinforcing patterns of healthy eating behavior. To identify the nutrients and foods in which they are found. To identify the most prevalent nutritional problems and select the appropriate dietary recommendations.
A06 To apply the information and communication technologies in systems of health care.
A07 To know the physiopathological processes, their manifestations and the risk factors that determine the health and disease states in the different stages of the life cycle.
A10 To know and to identify psychological and physical problems derived from gender violence to train students in the prevention, early detection, assistance, and rehabilitation of victims of this form of violence.
A13 To apply the nursing process to provide and guarantee the well-being, quality and safety of the people served.

Course learning outcomes
Description
Perform the assessment of the individual with mental health disorders, establish nursing diagnoses and plan nursing care.
Know the health alterations and their manifestations in the adult and elderly.
Use the nursing care process holistically and ethically as a work tool, performing the assessment, identifying problems and prioritizing interventions in the adult and the elderly.
Use the different groups of drugs knowing their benefits and possible risks.
Use information and communication systems and technologies in health care.
Perform nursing techniques and procedures correctly.
Recognize situations of vital risk and know how to manage taking the necessary measures.
Select care interventions aimed at treating or preventing health problems and their adaptation to daily life through resources of proximity and support for the elderly.
Communicate with clarity concepts related to care and use of technical terminology in another language, if necessary.
Know which are the most relevant mental health problems in the general population and in the different stages of the life cycle.
Collaborate in the realization of techniques and procedures in an interdisciplinary way.
