2. Pre-Requisites

The student must have knowledge related to analog-digital conversion, compression, audio and video recording and storage formats, lighting techniques, recording and basic audio and video editing.

3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession

Audiovisual technology is one of the professional branches of telecommunications audiovisual systems engineering.
In this subject, students practice the techniques of recording and editing different audiovisual events in a practical way.


4. Degree competences achieved in this course
Course competences

E21 The ability to build, use and manage telecommunications services and applications, defined as capture, analogue and digital processing, coding, transport, representation, processing, storage, reproduction, management and presentation of audiovisual services and information multimedia systems.
E22 The ability to analyse, specify, perform and maintain systems, equipment, headers and television, audio and video installations, in both fixed and mobile environments.
E23 The ability to carry out projects in premises and installations for the production and recording of audio and video signals.
E25 The ability to create, codify, manage, disseminate and distribute multimedia contents, according to usability criteria and accessibility of audiovisual, broadcast and interactive services.
G02 Correct, oral and written, communication skills.
G06 Knowledge of basic subjects and technologies, enabling students to learn new methods and technologies, as well as providing great versatility to adapt to new situations

Description
Analysis, synthesis and compression of technical documentation and mastery of specific vocabulary.
Synthesis of capacities of several telecommunications engineering areas.
Knowledge and implementation of advanced techniques to create applications and communication devices.

Correct use of oral and written expression to convey ideas, technologies, results, etc.

The development of one or more audiovisual projects by the students will be proposed, from the planning or pre-production phase to the recording-edition-diffusion on an appropriate format.

Audiovisual edition software resources: Premiere and ProTools.

Equipment for the Television Studio, Radio Studio and Sound Laboratory: television cameras, lighting system, microphones, mixing console, etc.

According to art. 4 of the UCLM Student Evaluation Regulations, it must be provided to students who cannot regularly attend face-to-face training activities the passing of the subject, having the right (art. 12.2) to be globally graded, in 2 annual calls per subject , an ordinary and an extraordinary one (evaluating 100% of the competences).

Evaluation criteria for the final exam:
  • Continuous assessment:
    The laboratory practical reports and the final project are compulsory activities, and it will be necessary to pass them with a minimum mark of 4.0 points in order to pass the subject in any call.
    The compulsory activities Test (evaluation test) will be passed with a minimum score of 4.0 points.
    To pass the course it is necessary to obtain a minimum final grade of 5.0 points.
  • Non-continuous evaluation:
    The evaluation test will consist of two different parts, a theoretical part and a practical part, which must be passed independently with 4.0 points each.
    The reports of the practices (40%) and the final project (20%) will be evaluated, but not its presentation in class.

Specifications for the resit/retake exam:
The reports of the suspended practices, as well as the final project, may be presented again on the date of the extraordinary call.
Specifications for the second resit / retake exam:
The same weighting of grades will be applied as the non-continuous assessment.
On the date of the call, an evaluation test and the delivery of practical reports and final project will be carried out.
