2. Pre-Requisites

It is highly advisable to have passed the subject of Anatomophysiology because it is necessary to have acquired knowledge about the morphology and functioning of the human organism in order to understand the anomalies of the body's structure and functioning.


 

3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession
At the end of the subject, the student will have acquired knowledge related to human neurological, rheumatological and trauma pathophysiological processes of adulthood, being able to identify problems and clinical, preventive and therapeutic aspects.

You will acquire medical-surgical knowledge applicable to human beings, as well as the consequences that different diseases can leave on people, affecting their functionality. You will obtain skills that will enable you to understand the pathophysiology and etiopathogenesis of the different human pathologies in order to apply occupational therapy treatment to them.

H1 To know and understand the medical, surgical and psychiatric knowledge applicable to the human being in all the moments of the life cycle, from childhood to old age, that enable them to evaluate, synthesize and apply Occupational Therapy treatments.
H2 To know and understand the physiopathological process at all times of the life cycle, identifying the problems and preventive and clinical aspects of the person, both in health and in illness.
H3 To know, evaluate, analyze, develop and participate in health education and promotion programs within the scope of Occupational Therapy to prevent occupational dysfunctions in general and subsequent to medical, surgical and psychiatric conditions and social maladjustment.
H4 Synthesize and apply the relevant knowledge of biological, medical, human, pedagogical, psychological, social, technological and occupational sciences, together with theories of occupation and participation.
5. Objectives or Learning Outcomes

Description
Tour of the different pharmacological principles used in the treatment of different diseases.
This subject aims to develop skills that allow students to understand and apply the knowledge of respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the digestive system, diseases of kidney and urinary tract, endocrinological diseases, infectious diseases, diseases of the reproductive system, metabolic diseases, haematological diseases, dermatological diseases, immunological diseases, surgical pathology, pharmacology, otolaryngology and ophtalmology
Acquisition of medical vocabulary.
Familiarize students with the most common medical terminology for their future professional activity.
The student will understand and acquire knowledge related to all human pathological processes of adulthood by identifying clinical, preventive and therapeutic problems and aspects in both health and disease.
The student must show knowledge and mastery of the competencies related to the subjects.
This subject aims to develop skills that allow students to understand the knowledge so that they can subsequently apply occupational therapy treatment in the different processes that constitute motivation to the treatment of occupational therapy such as processes, sequelae of diseases that determine some degree or form of disability.
This subject aims for students to acquire knowledge of the etiopatogenic and pathological foundations of the main nosological entities that constitute human pathology in the different systems and organs of the adult human body. Know the meaning of the different diseases, know the techniques of diagnosis and treatment of the different pathologies.
The student will acquire medical-surgical knowledge applicable to the human being at all times of the life cycle that will enable him to apply occupational therapy treatments in the different pathologies.
Learn how to interpret the reports of different healthcare professionals.
