3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession
- The Informative documentation was always a necessary tool for the good professional exercise of journalism, but it has become indispensable today. Indeed, due to the explosion of new digital media and social networks, which often involve the proliferation of dubious sources and the so-called Fake News, journalists must compete for audiences and readers in the only true journalistic way, ensuring the rigor and the informative precision that only the good use of the Documentation provides.

It is necessary for journalists to master the basic tools for handling information, general and specialized sources for verifying facts and data, proper management of information sources, as well as the theory and techniques for creating and management of information repositories and databases that will serve them in their work. - It is also necessary to provide guidelines for the selection and management of digital sources, RSS and other forms of content syndication, to improve the web positioning of their work.
- Equally, it is increasingly necessary that the knowledge of search techniques and the language of recovery of information sources, open or restricted access, be applied rigorously in the creation of digital pieces and texts to ensure, through SEO, the visibility of the information we produce. In addition, it is necessary to know bibliographic metrics and source analytics to control the impact of journalismo production, without forgetting respect for copyright and the ethical use of information.

The subject is directly related to subjects such as oral and written expression, use and management of information resources, digital journalism, investigative journalism, cyberjournalism, specialized journalism and basic and applied research in communication.

According to art. 4 of the UCLM Student Evaluation Regulations, it must be provided to students who cannot regularly attend face-to-face training activities the passing of the subject, having the right (art. 12.2) to be globally graded, in 2 annual calls per subject , an ordinary and an extraordinary one (evaluating 100% of the competences).
Evaluation criteria for the final exam:

Continuous assessment:Those students who follow the continuous assessment and maintain a passing grade in the course work, may avoid the final test. If they do it, this test will measure the set of practices as one more.
The rules of plagiarism and common spelling correction for the Degree will be applied -
Non-continuous evaluation:Those students who do not participate in the continuous assessment or have not submitted half of the assignments will be assessed through an all-encompassing final exam, with a value of 100% of the grade.
Specifications for the resit/retake exam:
The extraordinary call will maintain the percentages of value of the different parts of the subject (practices, participation, test) that were obtained in the ordinary call. Final exam have a 100% of the grade.
Specifications for the second resit / retake exam:
In the special call for completion there will be an all-inclusive exam on the contents of the subject, whose value in the final grade will be 100%.
