2. Pre-Requisites
To take this subject, no prerequisites are required. The experiences and the training that the student has acquired in the previous semesters of the Degree, as well as the concepts learned during the previous stages of their academic formation, will be considered and integrated in the development of the classes. It will be useful to use bibliography in English or French.

 

3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession
Contribution to the curriculum. Landscape and Territory is offered as an elective subject (with 6 ECTS credits) within the Cultural Heritage itinerary. Its object is the landscape, understood as social construction and cultural heritage. The subject has a conceptual nature, provides content that will contribute to complete the training of students who are directed to professional fields related to culture, social sciences and humanities. Due to its orientation, the subject is adapted to the polyvalent profile of these graduates.
Relationship with other subjects. It is included in the Department of Geography and Territorial Planning and is related to subjects of the fields of Regional Geography and Human Geography. Contribute with them to add the spatial dimension within a plan focused on humanistic and social disciplines. The methods, techniques and concepts developed throughout the previous courses are applied, especially the skills and abilities acquired in basic subjects such as Geography and Environment and Geography and Society; or in others of obligatory character like Perception and Analysis of the Geographical Reality and Geography and Globalization; and also in subjects of optional character such as Human Geography of Spain and Castilla-La Mancha. On the other hand, it completes the contents of other subjects focused on cultural heritage such as History of Art or Archeology and Heritage.

O1.4.- To recognize the relationships between landscape and society (E05).
O2.- To employ techniques of work and analysis typical of Geography to express judgments in a reasoned manner, orally and in written reports (T04; T05; T06; T08; T10; E02).
O2.1. To collect and assess documentation, data and information of various kinds from diverse sources in order to analyze them critically as well as to interpret and transmit this information in an organized and argued manner orally and in writing; (T04, T05, T06).
O2.2. To use the new information and communication technologies at the service of Human and Social Sciences for the analysis of reality and the presentation of their results (E02).

Final test 20.00% 0.00% Evaluation of the theoretical and, where appropriate, practical contents of the course, through a written examination.
Theoretical papers assessment 50.00% 0.00% Preparation of academic papers that must be presented according to criteria that will be specified at the beginning of the course.
Oral presentations assessment 10.00% 0.00% The oral presentation of the proposed readings will be valued, as well as the attendance and participation in the face-to-face debates.
Fieldwork assessment 20.00% 0.00% The participation in the fieldwork and the commentary of its results will be evaluated, as well as the participation in other practices carried out throughout the course.

Evaluation criteria for the final exam:
The criteria that appear in the description of the evaluation system will be applied to the students who habitually attend class (more than 75% of the sessions). The evaluation system for students who do not usually attend classes will consist of: Final test (60%) and preparation of academic paper (s) (with oral presentation) (40%).
Specifications for the resit/retake exam:
It will be applied the same criteria as the ordinary call.
Specifications for the second resit / retake exam:
Written exam (100 %).
