3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession

The subject provides a synthetic and contextualized knowledge of Medieval History of Spain, between the fifth and the fifteenth centuries. It will be focused on the main characteristics that defined the politics, society, economy and culture of Spain. Two basic purposes are sought: firstly, more specific, to ensure that students understand some of the historical foundations of our present world; secondly, more general, to help that these students get a solid general and multidisciplinary training in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Description
Familiarization with the schools and historiographical debates to know the diversity of approaches that exist.
To manage correctly those key concepts to reach a good learning of the subject.
Identification of the different historic heritage sites and categories, especially archaeological heritage site.
To know the bases of the different periods of the History of Spain and its diachronic correlation.
To acquire the capacity of interpret and comment different sources and historical texts.
To asimilate the meaning of the key concepts to understand the Universal History of Spain.
To comprehend and acquire the capacity to explain the origin and evolution of the different periods of the History of Spain.
