2. Pre-Requisites
No specific previous knowledge of General Geography is required to take this subject. However, it is considered that at this introductory level, the experience and previous training of the student (Secondary School and Bachellor), has already brought them closer to the knowledge and appreciation of different concepts that will be developed throughout the lessons. These opinions and previous experiences will be the basis for starting each of the topics.
An essential requirement will be the use and management of computer skills, either for access to the Internet for certain searches or questions, and for conducting class practices or expositions. As well as the management and understanding of cartography and the different statistics used in the preparation of lessons.
Knowledge of languages ¿¿by the student, preferably English/Spanish, will be convenient for the handling of bibliographic material and / or the reading of some text written in those languages and, above all, for the Internet consultation of different webs related to the subject of class and the performance of compulsory work.
3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession
The subject develops the contents of the GEOGRAPHY matter (Matter 2) which is located in the TRANSDISCIPLINARY KNOWLEDGE IN HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES module (module 2), in the degrees of HISTORY, ART HISTORY and double degrees of GEOGRAPHY, TERRITORIAL DEVELOPMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY / HISTORY, and HISTORY / HISTORY OF ART.
It develops the contents of the GEOGRAPHY area (Physical Geography, Human Geography and Regional Geographical Analysis).
This subject is basic to study within the Degree of History and the Double Degrees of Geography, Territorial Development / History, and History / Art History of the University of Castilla-La Mancha. In it the student will receive the basic knowledge to face this double degrees, key for a future professional in teaching Geography in Secondary Education, and for the development of professional work where Geography is relevant, and the possibility of developing TFG and Master where the territory, the geographical space, the natural spaces and human activities have a special relevance, linking them with the historical-artistic processes of that territory.

| This Basic subject is intended to be an introduction to the most important aspects of Physical Geography and Human Geography and study of the tools used in these disciplines. The student will be able to: -Know the tools used in the study of a territory from the point of view of Physical Geography and Human Geography. -Know how to interpret the symbiosis between the natural environment and the human environment and the interactions that take place between the two, the result of which will be a specific landscape. -Know the diversity of natural and anthropic spaces and the problems related to the environment at a global level. -Distinguish the processes existing in a given landscape, depending on the natural and / or human elements. -Know the sources for the preparation of studies of Physical and Human Geography. -Interpreting aerial photographs, plans and maps of different characteristics and scales, on rural, urban, industrial, and tourist areas¿ -Comment texts on the thematic block that is being studied, with an exposition of personal ideas, in a clear and orderly manner. -Know, understand and comment on the geographic diversity and differentiation of human activities carried out in diverse territories. -Manage atlases and maps of different themes (geomorphological, climatic, demographic, economic, etc.). -Manage the recommended and supporting bibliography. -Consult web pages to obtain geographic information (statistics, spatial photographs, texts, maps). |

The subject Physical and Human Geography, is considered as an introductory Basic Training subject to the knowledge of the geographical discipline from the point of view of the physical environment, the human environment and environmental problems. It is aimed at students of the Geography, Territorial Development and Sustainability, History and Art History Degrees. For this reason, the concepts will be addressed to the student so that they acquire a general knowledge of the interrelationships between the natural environment, society and the problems that affect the different territories.
The CONTENTS will be structured in two large blocks preceded by an introductory chapter to General Geography and geographic space. Block III will be optional depending on the timing of the main blocks.

8. Evaluation criteria and Grading System

Brief guidelines will be given on how to carry them out and the student will begin to do them during class hours for practical activities. The delivery of the same will be determined in class. All students must follow some guidelines or basic rules for making comments on text, graphics, maps, etc. It is possible that one of the practical activities is carried out as FIELDWORK as a seminar that will have additional credits (0.5 cr., recognized for Degree studies) and its corresponding certificate of attendance. The completion of this field work will depend on the aid that the Faculty of Arts can provide for it. This question will be discussed at the beginning of the academic year. |

According to art. 4 of the UCLM Student Evaluation Regulations, it must be provided to students who cannot regularly attend face-to-face training activities the passing of the subject, having the right (art. 12.2) to be globally graded, in 2 annual calls per subject , an ordinary and an extraordinary one (evaluating 100% of the competences).
Evaluation criteria for the final exam:

Continuous assessment:The course will follow a continuous assessment model in which both the theoretical aspects (theoretical exam), as well as the practical aspects (text comments, graphics, maps, etc.) and the Mandatory Work in groups will be assessed. Active participation in class, in debates and other face-to-face practices during school hours, will be taken into consideration in a positive way for the final evaluation.
MANDATORY WORK in groups:
The rules of completion will be delivered at the beginning of the course and on the website (Virtual Campus) of the subject. Compulsory work will be done in pairs or groups. IMPORTANT: Failure to present the work on the dates determined by the professor, despite having other approved aspects, will mean a SUSPENSION in the subject.
EXAM: Evaluation of theoretical content.
The evaluation of the theoretical contents will be carried out through a single written exam on the date determined by the calendar of the Faculty of Letters.
To be able to do the final evaluation, with the mandatory work and the practical activities, it will be an essential requirement to obtain 4.5 in the qualification of the theoretical contents (EXAM). If the minimum mark, necessary to make an average mark with the rest of the marks (practical and mandatory work), WAS NOT OBTAINED, THE FINAL NOTE WILL BE THAT OF THE EXAM. However, to pass the course, the MINIMUM NOTE required will be 5 in the total computation of grades for the course. -
Non-continuous evaluation:It is not considered.
Specifications for the resit/retake exam:
The same as for the ordinary call. In the same academic course, the scores of memories of practices and mandatory work will be taken into account (saved, if they were approved) in the evaluation of the extraordinary call. In the case of not having delivered the practices and / or the Mandatory Work in groups, the student must do so to be able to pass the subject, as a deadline the same day of the extraordinary exam.
Specifications for the second resit / retake exam:
The student must have presented and approved all the practical activities and / or mandatory works for the realization of the exam of the special call for completion. Failing that, on the day of the exam, you must deliver said practical activities / mandatory work after tutoring by the professor, who will be contacted weeks before (at the beginning of the academic year), to establish delivery dates and / or other options.
