3. JUSTIFICACIÓN EN EL PLAN DE ESTUDIOS, RELACIÓN CON OTRAS ASIGNATURAS Y CON LA PROFESIÓN

The course develops the contents of the Field of Practical English Language within the Module English Language and Linguistics from the Degree in English Studies and develops contents from the Area of English Philology. It does not have a professional character.

For a detailed relation of this course with other subjects of in the Degree in English Studies, the corresponding 'Memoria de Grado' may be consulted.

Descripción
Tomar parte sin esfuerzo en cualquier conversación o debate y conocer bien modismos, frases hechas y expresiones coloquiales.
Expresarse con fluidez y transmitir matices sutiles de sentido con precisión.
Leer con facilidad prácticamente todas las formas de lengua escrita, incluyendo textos abstractos estructural o lingüísticamente complejos.
Presentar descripciones o argumentos de forma clara y fluida y con un estilo que es adecuado al contexto y con una estructura lógica y eficaz.
Comprender cualquier tipo de lengua hablada, tanto en conversaciones en vivo como en discursos retransmitidos.
Escribir textos claros y fluidos en un estilo apropiado. Escribir cartas, informes o artículos complejos que presentan argumentos con una estructura lógica y eficaz, así como resúmenes y reseñas de obras profesionales o literarias.

* En Evaluación no continua se deben definir los porcentajes de evaluación según lo dispuesto en el art. 4 del Reglamento de Evaluación del Estudiante de la UCLM, que establece que debe facilitarse a los estudiantes que no puedan asistir regularmente a las actividades formativas presenciales la superación de la asignatura, teniendo derecho (art. 12.2) a ser calificado globalmente, en 2 convocatorias anuales por asignatura, una ordinaria y otra extraordinaria (evaluándose el 100% de las competencias).

Criterios de evaluación de la convocatoria ordinaria:
  • Evaluación continua:
    The written and the oral exam are 'pruebas obligatorias'. In order to pass the subject as a whole, students must obtain at least 40% in the the written and the oral papers. With this mark attained, the in-class assignments will be added to the students grade. However, in order to pass the subject, a 5,0 must be obtained overall. In order to move on to the oral interview, students need to get, at least, a 40% in both parts of the written exam.

    All two in-class tests + group presentations will be done in class on dates that will be duly announced in advance during the term. The final exam must be passed so that the mark for the two in-class compositions and group presentation may be considered as part of the final mark for the subject.

    Grades will be kept, as long as the whole subject has been passed, in case of incompatibility with Inglés Escrito III only within the same academic year
  • Evaluación no continua:
    Students must get 40% in the written exam (and at least a 40% in each of its parts, that is Composition (pt1)+ grammar/vocabulary/reading/listening (pt2)). All students must also get 40% in the oral exam to be able to pass.

Details about this activity will be provided during the semester on Moodle.The essay and the video presentation should be sent to the teacher by the end of April. Students who wish to be evaluated in this modality should tell their teachers at the beginning of the semester.

    40% in both parts of the final exam must be achieved, so that the mark for essay and presentation may be considered as part of the final mark for the subject, which must reach a 5,0. In order to move on to the oral interview, students need to get, at least, a 40% in both parts of the written exam.
