3. JUSTIFICACIÓN EN EL PLAN DE ESTUDIOS, RELACIÓN CON OTRAS ASIGNATURAS Y CON LA PROFESIÓN
The course develops the contents of the Field of Practical English Language within the Module English Language and Linguistics from the Degree in English Studies and develops contents from the Area of English Philology. It does not have a professional character.
For a detailed relation of this course with other subjects of in the Degree in English Studies, the corresponding 'Memoria de Grado' may be consulted.

* En Evaluación no continua se deben definir los porcentajes de evaluación según lo dispuesto en el art. 4 del Reglamento de Evaluación del Estudiante de la UCLM, que establece que debe facilitarse a los estudiantes que no puedan asistir regularmente a las actividades formativas presenciales la superación de la asignatura, teniendo derecho (art. 12.2) a ser calificado globalmente, en 2 convocatorias anuales por asignatura, una ordinaria y otra extraordinaria (evaluándose el 100% de las competencias).
Criterios de evaluación de la convocatoria ordinaria:

Evaluación continua:Continuous assessment will consist of two in-class compositions and a presentation that will be done in class on dates that will be duly announced during the term, as well as of the final exam, which must be passed so that the mark for the in-class compositions and video may be considered as part of the final mark for the subject (30% final mark).
If in-person classes are cancelled, then the two compositions and video will be substituted by three video presentations on topics set by the teachers and then recorded by the students at home to be assessed by the teachers. These there videos will amount to 30% of the final mark.
FINAL EXAM (70%): Students must obtain at least 40% of the points in each of the sections to pass the exam as a whole. The exam has got 3 parts: Written Exam, including Part 1 (Listening+Use of English+Reading) and Part 2 (Composition); and Oral Exam (Part 3). Only those students who obtain such mark in the written exam (Listening+Use of English+Composition) will be entitled to take the oral interview, which is also part of the exam of the subject. In order to pass the written exam, both Part 1 (Listening+Use of English+Reading) and Part 2 (Composition) must be passed separately. In order to pass the subject as a whole, both the written and the oral papers must be passed with at least 40% and the final mark be at least 5/10. The assessment includes the written and the oral papers, all of which are parts of the exam and will be taken during the time period allotted in the official exam timetable. Students are reminded that they need to be available for all exam parts. Those passing the written section and failing the oral interview in January will have to retake the written exam and the oral interview again in June.
If a Pass in Advanced English II is not compatible with a Fail in Advanced English I, Advanced English II's Pass mark will be maintained during the same academic year on condition that Advanced English I is passed during the same academic year. -
Evaluación no continua:In non-continuous assessment, the two in-class compositions and class video presentation will be substituted by three video presentations on topics suggested by the teachers which have to be handed in on the day of the final exam at the latest. (30% of the final mark)
