It is advisable to have a basic knowledge of History and Classical Culture
Roman Law is a basic subject, included in the table of subjects considered as "Legal and Economic Basic Subjects", along with other subjects such as History of Law, Theory of Law and Economics, which is taught in the first semester of the first year of the Degree in Law and has 6 ECTS credits.
As the UCLM Curriculum for the Degree in Law is included in the European convergence process, what better way can there be to converge in the training of the future jurist that to study the only law common to all of Europe: the Roman Law, which is the origin of all the Private Law, specially Civil Law.
All Modern legal systems have been formed from the conceptions and formulations of the Roman legal system, which shows the importance of its study for the formation of the modern jurist.
