3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession

The subject of Pharmacology and First Aid is located within the elective credits, which allow the Physiotherapy Degree student to expand their training in topics related to health.

The physiotherapist is part of the Health Team, developing his professional activity, both in the hospital and out-of-hospital settings. As a health professional, it is convenient for you to be able to know and identify certain emergency situations that may be found both in the development of your professional activity and throughout your personal life; as well as providing the first attention until the arrival of professional medical assistance. Similarly, you must know the principles associated with the administration of medications for proper use.

The objective of this subject is to equip the student with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that allow them to provide quality care to individuals in emergency situations.

This subject is linked among others with the subjects of Human Morphology I and II, Biochemistry and General Pathology.
