3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession

Justification: The subject Physiotherapy Assessment covers the study and application of assessments, tests and functional checks on their foundations, modalities and techniques.

Relationship with other subjects: This subject is related to others in the Curriculum such as: Fundamentals of Physiotherapy, Human Morphophysiology I and II, Anatomy of the Locomotor System, Biomechanics, Psychology, Kinesitherapy, General Procedures I and II, Specific Methods I - IV , Physiotherapy in Clinical Specialties I - VI, Introduction to Clinical Practice, Practicum I, II and III.

Relationship with the profession: This subject will allow the student to attain essential professional competences for the exercise of the profession, since assessment is the first phase in the method of Intervention in physiotherapy. It is in this phase when all the necessary data are gathered and recorded to obtain a clear idea of ¿¿the health status of a person or group, with the aim of making a physiotherapeutic diagnosis.

5. Objectives or Learning Outcomes
Course learning outcomes
Description
To make a portfolio or laboratory notebook including the different tools, methods, and assessment procedures employed in physiotherapy, summarizing the methodology to apply for each assessment, all with the aid of images, no spelling errors, and using appropriate technical language.
To explain, verbally and in writing, the general theoretical grounds of the process of palpation, inspection, and tool measuring system.
To properly elaborate and complete physiotherapeutic clinical records that include the data to be obtained for each assessment, and to interpret the obtained outcomes correctly.
To show the correct execution of the different assessment methods and procedures employed in Physiotherapy by applying them on a peer or practical case, choosing the position and most adequate assessment tool, and critically explaining the reasons for such choices, with logical structure and appropriate language.
Additional outcomes
