2. Pre-Requisites

A minimum A2 level (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in English language is recommended, in order to follow the subject properly.

3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession

In compliance with the objectives of the European Higher Education Area for university degrees, the knowledge of a foreign language at the first level of independent user is required. This level must be specifically related to the particular studies and profession. University graduates must acquire the competence of being able to maintain communication at the first level of independent user, related to the work and study fields covered during the degree and by its completion.

University degree students will need to consult books, perform internet searches in a foreign language or understand the contents of videos. The knowledge of a foreign language will also facilitate the participation in exchange programmes such as Socrates, Erasmus or Mundus. At the end of his/her studies, a graduate with specialized knowledge of a foreign language, applied to the labour and human resources world, will have more possibilities of finding a job abroad and enjoying mobility grants, such as Leonardo. With the completion of this course, we intend to facilitate students to continue on their own until the acquisition of a B1 level certificate, which is the level required by the Common European Framework of Reference as the necessary level in order to obtain any degree certificate, as established by UCLM rules and regulations in force.
