2. Pre-Requisites
Not established though strong emphasys is put in following courses on International Economics and/or Institutional Economics before enlisting in this one.
3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession
Against a background of increased globalization and interdependence in trade relations among countries, “Economía de la Unión Europea” (in English, “EU Economy”) offers a broad, specific view of the main features of the European integration, such as institutions, trade and productive integration, macroeconomic and financial framework, and major changes since its creation until present day.
A sound knowledge of these features is a must for economists in Europe. Students will learn to discern the implications as well as the main advantages and risks the European integration offers to organizations whatsoever, so that they will be able in future to be efficient in their professional careers either in the civil service or in corporations.

According to art. 4 of the UCLM Student Evaluation Regulations, it must be provided to students who cannot regularly attend face-to-face training activities the passing of the subject, having the right (art. 12.2) to be globally graded, in 2 annual calls per subject , an ordinary and an extraordinary one (evaluating 100% of the competences).

A second opportunity to pass de exam, just in case the student fails to pass the first one, will consist of a written exam about all the contents of the subject.

A third opportunity, consisting in a single written exam, will allow the student pass with a mark of 5 out 10 points.
