3. Justification in the curriculum, relation to other subjects and to the profession
Know the foundations and components of Social Policy as an academic discipline and its historical relationship with Social Work. Know and understand the historical process of social reform, and the origins, development and crisis of the Welfare State. Be able to analyze the differences between social policy types and models, their basic values ¿¿and their results. Be able to assess the consequences and implications that different orientations in social policy have for Social Work, as well as the contributions of Social Work to the design, development and evaluation of social policies.

Be able to analyze the nature of the mechanisms that convey social policies and the their consequences in terms of results and effects on inequality. Be able to distinguish and recognize the articulation of the market, family, civil society and state in welfare regimes and their implications for the design and results of policies. Knowing how to identify the main current trends in social policy matters.

Know, understand and be able to evaluate the territorial and systemic articulation of social welfare policies and the results in terms of design, implementation and evaluation.

According to art. 4 of the UCLM Student Evaluation Regulations, it must be provided to students who cannot regularly attend face-to-face training activities the passing of the subject, having the right (art. 12.2) to be globally graded, in 2 annual calls per subject , an ordinary and an extraordinary one (evaluating 100% of the competences).

Evaluation criteria for the final exam:
  • Continuous assessment:
    The subject can be overcome by completing and exceeding all the proposed activities during the teaching period and passing the final exam on the day of the official call. The evaluation percentages of each activity will be distributed as indicated in the previous assessment table.
    For students who have not opted for the continuous assessment system will be an examination of the entire agenda and a text comment on the day of the official call. The exam will count 70% of the total mark (40% theory and 30% practice, both of which must be approved) and the text comment will be the remaining 30%.
  • Non-continuous evaluation:
    Evaluation criteria not defined

Specifications for the resit/retake exam:
The extraordinary examination will consist of a single exam, both for students who have followed the continuous assessment and for those who have not. In this exam all the theoretical and practical contents that make up the program of the subject will be evaluated. The exam will count 70% of the total score (40% theory and 30% practice, both having to be approved) and the text comment will count 30 % remaining
